Fleur Noir — The Story Behind the Fragrance

All we really want is a perfume that lasts and smells unforgettable. Before Fleur Noir became a fragrance, it became my reason to keep believing in myself.

As a fashion designer, creating my own perfume felt like the natural next step. But I created Fleur Noir after I lost my job, my apartment, my friends. I slept outside. I was bitten by ants. I was kicked off benches for sleeping on them — in the U.S.

One thing I never lost: my presentation, my smile, and the confidence that came from within.

But I had no choice but to build myself through suffering.

I've slept in cars. I watched my car burn to ashes. I watched my fashion collection disappear in flames.

I wrote my first book.

I was scammed by people I hired.

I went into tunnel vision, driven by the power within. I stayed in silence and listened to God's voice to guide me through those difficult times.

I crumbled, but I never stumbled. Neither will you.

I was weak. I didn't want to be seen, let alone talk.

Somewhere in that silence, I understood something: resilience — worn as a scent, carried on the skin — could rebuild the aura I had lost. Not to hide behind. To stand in.

I wanted to rise.

So I named my first fragrance Fleur Noir(e), which means Black Flower in French. I didn't create Fleur Noir to follow trends. I created it for those who choose individuality over imitation.

I wanted Fleur Noir to represent the girl, the woman, the single mother, the wife who feels alone in her marriage, and the daughter learning to find her strength within.

It is for the woman who has been bullied, abused, overlooked, or mistreated — yet keeps finding her way back to herself.

Fleur Noir is about the moment you remember your strength. When you choose how you want to feel, how you want to present yourself, and the scent you want to leave behind.

I am a Fine Artist, so I began by drawing the Fleur Noir bottle by hand, weaving in her emotions, movement, and story.

She moves in silence. The curves of the bottle represent every challenge she has overcome — and the peace waiting on the other side.

With my background in graphic design, I designed the logo, label, and packaging myself, building each detail piece by piece.

My journey as a filmmaker and my master's in Film and Media taught me the power of storytelling. Creating Fleur Noir allowed every part of my creative world to come together — art, design, fashion, and film.

This bottle was created through years of experience, resilience, and the hands of the person who dreamed it into existence.

THE SCENT

I created samples and wore them to a grocery store in the United States. A family of six followed me and stopped me. The children ran after me with their mother, who was in her late 40s. They wanted to buy it then — but I hadn't created the bottle yet.

In Thailand, United Arab Emirates and China, children ran after my lingering scent. Adults stared and took pictures. Grandmothers smiled. Men whispered, asked to take pictures with me as if I were a celebrity. That's when I knew Fleur Noir was ready to meet the world.
